Oakley's Growing Up

So, on Thursday, Oakley got tubes in his ears. Yeah! Thursday night, he decided that he didn't feel like sleeping. Boo! Friday morning, I decided to let him roam while I snoozed for a few minutes. After a little bit, he came and tried to climb up on the couch where I was. I smelled candy and found his hands to be all sticky. So much for my snooze, I went to see what he had found.

My 15 month old could survive on Kid Nation.
He found food, got it down, and transferred it to a candle holder.

Oh, and he tasted each piece. (These were strawberry flavored Whoppers, btw, now they're spit flavored, except that one at the bottom.)

I'm so glad that now he is self sufficient enough to dispense of babysitters. Litterally, now we can lock the doors and off we'll go. He can manage himself.

We also figured he's old enough to get a job and start pulling his own weight. He started at Target yesterday.

I'm the best parent.

Sorry again for helping him with his candy addiction, you know what they say, like Aunt like nephew. And I might be secretly glad that he was only able to reach those, not the Sourpatch Watermelon candies that were right behind those. And if you want you can bring them to work tomorrow...only if YOU want to though. Thanks.

Does Oakley need a ride to work tomorrow? Does he need his uniform washed or do they like sweet, sticky workers? He is cute and oh, so smart.

Yay Target...I wore that same uniform for a year or so. If Oakley needs any suggestions or help working the women's/baby/children's/shoe/jewelry department...tell him to give me a call!

Strawberry flavored Whoppers? Did you get to eat at least one before they were Oaklified? Are they any good?

He's the cutest target worker I've ever seen. He is seriously such a cute baby. I had a strawberry whopper on sunday and I have to admit I wasn't a fan so you probably aren't missing out too much, but then again I don't like normal whoppers so I'm probably not the best source on that one.

am i seeing things right- were your "new & improved" whoppers transfered back to their candy dish?! :) what we don't know won't kill us, eh!?
oh- and don't give up on your

Don't worry Carey, I don't know why I transferred them back to the candy dish, I think to see if I needed to wash the candle holder, but I threw them away. Didn't even feed them to the home teachers first.
And Mary and Laura, yeah, not the best candy invented, I just have a thing for pink candy (it color coordinates with my front room)and my father in law loves whoppers, and so the answer is no, no good, didn't cry over the loss.

Sara, they have pink m&m's for breast cancer week. I think they are even on sale at Fry's. I'm sure they wouldn't be a temptation for Oakley at all.

Dying over the BLAHG. I have been going through this stage myself. I used to be a "every other day" poster. Now about a week. But don't worry, I jam pack that week into one post so it takes a week to read it.

My oldest got tubes at that age, wish we would have done it sooner. Many sleepless nights. And I hate that Target got to claim the Red/Khaki attire...I periodically put it on by accident then annoying have to change since I frequent Target everyday.

And thanks for the Heads-Up on the Whoppers...they looked pretty good...even chewed up and all.
