Why Our Insurance Company Hates Us.

Lets play a game, kind of like this one.So, I was hanging out with an adding machine and a stack of EOB's, and decided to brave the numbers. I totaled up the medical expenses incurred for these guys, and thought it might be fun to play a guessing game.

First:
Sweet Reesie-Piecie. He's been home from the hospital for a month and is doing great! He is doing better than when he left PCH, which is highly unusual for this guy. We couldn't be happier.
So, here are his stats to base the guess on.

Hospital Stay: 177 days
Surgeries: 7
Anesthesia: 10 times
Ambulence rides: 2
Height of EOB's: 2 & 1/8 inches

Next:
Little Nater-Tater. He is adjusting well. He think Reese is his lunch and chews on any part of him he can get to his mouth. I'm thinking it will be a real fun game to deal with when he gets teeth.

Hospital Stay: 89 days
Height of EOB's: 5/8 inch

Lastly:
And Me:
Hospital Stay: 10 days
Surgery: C-Section
Anesthesia: Epidural, kinda.
Ultrasounds: 13 x 2 (billed twice each time for twins.)
Height of EOB's: 1/4 inch

The prize for guessing closest?
A get out of watching these kids coupon. (Melissa and Mom, you might want to try really hard.)

Actually, I will make a real prize. You can choose: a $25 Olive Garden gift card or a $20 AMC gift card. (Maybe they are re-gifts, but whatev.)

*official game rules: the only rule is I don't want any arguing about closest without going over or not. this isn't price is right. just guess and the closest, over or under, wins. game will end on thursday, july 2nd.

Nerdy and Thirty

So, yep, I turned 30. It feels a lot like 29.

You know who else is 30?

At least I'm in good company.

So, in honor of beinghere is some random crap about me. (I know, yawn, right?)
  1. My favorite food these days is Tootsie Pops. Order of preference is red, orange, purple... if anyone wants the maroon, brown or those disgusting peppermint ones, they are yours.
  2. Without my contacts, I am pretty near blind. My left eye is -4.25 and righty is -4.00. I sleep with them in.
  3. I eaves-drop all the time. Sorry.
  4. I do math equations (please excuse my dear Aunt Sally - style) to get the time on the clock or phone numbers and birthdays to balance out.
  5. My favorite chore is yardwork. My least favorite is putting away the laundry.
  6. In case of a medical emergency, I am O- and have had blood transfusions.
  7. If I could live anywhere I would live on the beach in Newport.
  8. I would love to have 6 kids, but will probably only have 4.
  9. I hate long nails. On me or you. Bleh.
  10. Although they are fantastic, I think massages are a waste of time and money.
  11. My house is usually a mess.
  12. I am prideful that after three kids, including twins, I don't have stretchmarks, even though I have absolutely nothing to do with it.
  13. If I didn't need a real job, I'd dabble in fashion design.
  14. I don't get stressed out, basically ever, because it doesn't help anything.
  15. I am obsessed with the bug man coming to my house regularly. I feel like bugs are a sign of filth, and although it may be messy, I don't want my house to be dirty.
  16. I don't think babies are cute. Precious, yes, but cute, no.
  17. I am a master on Microsoft Word and memorize fonts.
  18. I played the french horn in 6th grade band. I was 1st chair, and last chair, and the only chair.
  19. I have a very acute sense of smell.
  20. I watch tons of junk tv. I talk about Real Housewives, the Hills and Project Runway like they are my friends/enemies.
  21. I laughed when I saw a girl tumble down a spiral slide recently. I still laugh when I see it in my head.
  22. My biggest pet peeve is when people schedule my time.
  23. I hoard ribbon.
  24. I prefer silence to noise.
  25. I rarely see movies. The last movie I saw was 4 Christmases. The last one before that was The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
  26. I have never lived more than 4 miles away from my parents.
  27. My perfect day would consist of sleeping in until 8:30, waking up to a clean house, eating banana bread for breakfast, hanging out by a pool in the morning, eating chipotle for lunch, taking a nap, going for a bike ride, eating ice cream for dinner, watching tv without commercials and going to bed. (Never did I mention a shower.)
  28. I love to smash lightbulbs.
  29. I have a pervy sense of humor, close to that of a 13-year-old boy.
  30. Though there have been a few bumps along the way, I am pretty close to where I thought I would be in life by this point. I chalk it up to good planning and being incredibly blessed.

Random Oakley Sampler

Shout out to my kid:

I like him.

Since becoming potty trained, he'll often just show up next to me, whatever I'm doing, bottomless. He'll be completely silent and so I'll turn all the sudden and - whoa!- naked kid. It freaks me out.

His favorite song of the moment is Poker Face. I dunno.

He refers to boobs as "shoulders." It has been very helpful when he says it in public, "Wow, big shoulders." It only makes Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes slightly awkward.

I just heard him turn on his Leapster and close the door. Not fooled. Go to bed!!

Suckers

Dear Readers,

Just wanted you to know that Sara will be back soon.

We've been keeping her hands too busy scratching mosquito bites to type, so we thought we'd fill you in.

She's still alive... barely... we've left just enough blood in her so she can be fully aware of how annoying the itchy feeling is.

You want to know what's funny? We bit her all over her face too, so it looks awesome like zits. Just what an almost 30 (on MONDAY) year old would want. Heh, heh.

Consider yourself updated.

Mr. Mosquito
