Typical Me.

So, does anyone else's computer look like this when you're prepping for blogging? Well, let me justify it. This is the most delicious cake, white with lemon filling. It is a monsterous piece, and yes, I am going to eat it all in one sitting. (p.s. isn't my baby adorable?!)
I need it and deserve it.
Today was Father's day. Yay Fathers! (Oakley was excited, apparently Jason was more interested in watching the US Open Finals.) I was a nice wife and daughter in law and invited my inlaws over for dinner, because Jason's sister is pregnant and tired and didn't. So, Jason requested the same meal that I posted and bragged about a few weeks ago. I had everything going smoothly, and planned to eat at 5:30. The in-laws and grandma in law showed up at 5:10. Awesome! One more person to feed AND I SAID 5:30! I shook it off and kept on cooking. At, 5:20 I went to finish up the ribs and chicken (I added chicken, Grandma is allergic to pork,) and duhn, duhn, duh...... the grill was out of propane. I HATE JONES LUCK! So, I got cranky and went to my parents and used their grill. It was fine, but I was still just cranky and Jason said I was being bossy.

But, this uncrankied me quite a bit. Look what Melissa and Philip got me for my birthday! It's so cute! She got me TWO beaded glass platters and lots of matching bowls. I can't wait to have some occasion to use them. (Yes, those are the strawberry baskets in the background that I still can't part with.)
While on Birthday stuff, look at what Alyson gave me: She too gave me party hosting plates and this brown skirt that I love love. In fact, I loved it so much, I changed into it in the car on the way from lunch to the Nancy Drew movie. (Yes, we loved it, it was true to form of the book.) Melissa and Alyson were nice enough to take me to lunch and a movie of my choice. I thought it was funny that we were all wearing green stripes. Oh, and the lady that was taking the picture was too close to get Nancy in the background, and we all knew it when she was taking it, but we were all too chicken to say anything.Brookie, sweet as a cookie, gave me this green striped shirt and I love it, I've actually already worn it twice. Natalie and I'm sure Jake sent me the most delicious candle (orange creamsicle, and Nat, I got it when the mail man got there, so it wasn't all melty) Kev and Nicole posted a blog for me to save me the thought, and Jason is letting me take piano lessons. So, sorry long post, in short: birthday = good, father's day = bad.
Oh, and here's me, all 28. (I had to redeem myself after the amazing picture Kevin posted for me (see two down.) I need Visine, hairspray and I need to bleach my teeth! Corn Niblets anyone?!!! :(
Love Y'all!

Oakley's hair looks so cute and combed! What a cute big boy! Also, I still am so excited about all of the serving stuff...Aly you need to get pregnant with a boy so we can have a shower or something. Logical idea right?
Anyways, Sara you are such a sweetheart, I figured that you were frustrated tonight, but you played it off like a champ, and nobody besides your small twin would know it. I especially liked when Grandma Jo said to you as you were cutting your biscuit, "Sara, I'd take half of that." I would have snapped, but Sweetheart Sara said, "Ok, do you want butter and jam on it too?" And proceeded to jam it all up for her. Oh, and Grandma wasn't the only tag along, Sara served me and Philip too, and wouldn't even let me bring something to help with.
All in all, this random comment is saying that Sara is a saint, and I want to be her when I grow up.

Sara- your birthday was a PARTY!! You should have b-day's more often so we can ditch kids, work, life and go and play! Nancy Drew was the best!! I'm going to the library to get a good Nancy Drew read right now! I don't think I ever completely finished checking off my list of all the Nancy Drew mystery series I had read.
I can't believe how nice you were for Father's Day!! You continue to make me look really bad - especially since we just went to Nielson's to see what they had cookin', even though they had just got back in town. I'm glad you're my sis, so I have somebody to make me look like trash! J/K! Love ya!

Speaking of corn niblets, if you want to make Laura really ticked, you should call her corn tooth. You'll have to figure it out...
