As I've Mentioned Before...

I LOVE(please notice: I'm still on Melvi's account (thank you by the way,) he's been a faithful member for 27 years, and I got my picture taken with wet hair and didn't know I should look at the camera.)

Today, I went on a Costco outing with Oakley, my mom, Alyson and Brynn. With these people, you are bound to have fun and laugh hard.

I wanted to look again at this table that I saw last visit, approximately a month ago, because I'm seriously considering buying it for the back patio. So, we were checking it out, seeing how it worked because it supposedly folds flat, when....

bang-gung-gung-gehrh-boom.....

As one of us ( I won't mention names) was moving one of the legs, the HUGE metal bracket that's the size of a basketball hoop pole thing, that holds up the price sign, simply falls over, knocking over all of the solar lights and other boxes stacked behind the table collapsing the aisle behind it.

Oops.

Needless to say, later on our perusing through the store, when Oakley waved to one of the 18 workers who had rushed to the scene, the guy didn't seem to find our group adorable like most usually do.

But still- I love hanging with my fam, especially at Costco
(and I'm going to get the table.)

So they had one of these:

I looked like this, which was fine, but I looked very tired.
Then this "shear genius" took over, and I love her for it!She did the most amazing hair cut, and I can't wait for her to color it too!
And the Laurels wanted to do a make-up night with a girl that works for MAC and they invited me to come. I told them they'd have one of two thoughts on Sunday.
1-The intervention didn't take, what a waste of time -or-
2-Yowza! She looks like a clown! Now what?!

Well, I didn't think I'd have to add a 3rd, but I feel it's the most accurate: She looks like a mormon singer/songwriter that's trying to look all glammed up for a album cover shoot and ended up more in the hooker category. Sheesh.

Ah well, at least I don't look SO 1997 anymore, but I do think I'll tone down the eyeliner.

As if you havn't already had enough....

Let's hope he never needs glasses.

He looks just about as good as me; I wish you could hear him say, "whoa" every time he looked up. Presh!

Oak-a-doodle-doo!

So, tonight I said, "Son, don't put cheese in your ears."
Jason laughed and commented it was something he never thought he'd hear.
I responded, "You must have not heard me last week when I told him not to put marshmallows in his ears."

So, I realized; not all of you get a hearty daily dose of Oakley, so it's time for me to give you all an update.

Our little monster, or man, is now 18 months old (for another day or two.) He is so much fun, but sometimes I forget.

Some things, it appears, he has gotten from me:

His equal love for sleep and food.
He is a good gift reciever.
His attention to detail. His determination to figure it out himself.
His love of dirt and plants (which may be from me and my parents.)Speaking of my parents; his love of them.
A little while back, I got him in the car and said, "Do you want to go to Grandma's?" He was cranky and whining the whole way until we turned onto ElMoro, and then he said, "Oh, Whama's," like , "Oh, the fun grandma's."His thinking he's really funny.(when he closes his eyes, he thinks he's hilarious)
His dimple in his chin.
There are other qualities, that seem more Jason-like:

His love of play
and singing. (Popcorn popping: "it wasn't really so...")
His love of basketball (but I think it might really just be the company and the snacks, which is more me.)
His love of being the boss when it comes to driving.
He can do it himself and doesn't need any help.
His love to hang with the girls,
and put on their shoes.
His dislike of sloppy-joes.
His control issue. Swinging is okay, as long as he feels like he's in control. But don't go to high! His love of talking on the phone. His super cute buns.
Some things are just him:

His obsession with shredding paper/paper products/food.

Did ya get enough?

We're obviously the parents of one.
